Dr. Anamika Maurya

Work Experience

Duration: August 2020 - Present
Organisation: Indian Institute of Technology Bombay (IIT Bombay)
Project: CFD simulations on the whole blood separation

Currently, I am working as a Institute Postdoctoral Fellow in the Mechanical Engineering Department at IIT Bombay. My research interest includes the separation of plasma from whole human blood. In the present ongoing pandemic situation, i.e., COVID-19, the blood plasma is found to be very helpful in its treatment. For immunology testing, plasma is one of the required clinical samples, consisting of several essential informations to diagnose various diseases. A rigorous literature review suggests a gap between the body of knowledge, and the present endeavours willing to fill this.

Research Interests

Blood flow in a Microchannel, Modelling and simulation of non-Newtonian fluid flows, Rheology of complex fluids, Transport phenomena, Fluid Mechanics, Heat Transfer, Buoyancy driven flows.
